• Advent Wreath: A circular arrangement of evergreen branches holding four (sometimes five) candles. One candle is lit each Sunday, with the light growing brighter as Christmas approaches, symbolizing the light of Christ.  Each week of Advent focuses on a specific theme:

  • Hope: The first candle (Prophecy Candle).

  • Peace: The second candle (Bethlehem Candle).

  • Joy: The third candle (Shepherd's Candle), typically rose or pink, lit on Gaudete Sunday.

  • Love: The fourth candle (Angel's Candle).

The "Christ the King" feast, celebrated on the last Sunday of the liturgical year, emphasizes that Jesus is the divine King of the Universe, not a political ruler. His kingship is one of love and service.

Practice obedience: Live with an attitude of obedience, doing what is right today to avoid regret tomorrow. Acknowledge God in all your ways, and he will direct your path.

Today's feast day - Dedication of Lateran Basilica - reminds Catholics that the Church is not only a physical building but the living community of God's people, the Body of Christ

All Souls' Day, also called The Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed, is a day of prayer and remembrance for the faithful departed, observed by Christians on 2 November.

Today-  trust in a higher power even when you don't understand your circumstances, and to focus on faith over fear. Embrace each day as a new opportunity to grow spiritually and be open to the possibilities that may arise, trusting that you will be guided through both challenges and successes. 

World Mission Sunday 19th Sunday October 2025

World Mission Sunday is a day set aside for the Catholic Church throughout the world to publicly renew its commitment to the missionary movements, coordinated by the Pontifical Mission Societies, who are also known as Missio. It is celebrated on the penultimate Sunday of October every year. 

The Kingdom of God welcomes and accepts all people – even sinners, those who don’t say thank you, and those who annoy us!
