If we truly hear the words of Jesus; that he “came that we might have life, and have it to the full.” and that he “…does not call us servants, but friends…” then we will see the challenge to ‘sin no more’ as the invitation to ‘life’ and ‘friendship’ and to what God knows is ‘true happiness’. 

He runs, welcomes, hugs, kisses, his son.  “He was lost. Now he is found again.” For the father that is all that matters.

When we turn to God in prayer, trusting him with our worries, fears, doubts, anxieties, there is every reason to believe that our prayers will also be heard…… and… if we listen very carefully we might even hear God whisper to us, “You are my child, my chosen one…” 

Lent is a good time to ask the Holy Spirit to grant us an increase in the virtue of hope.

With the Gospels; we come to know the person of Jesus; and through him our God is revealed to us.
How incredibly blessed we are, through, with, and in the person of Jesus!
